What a year! We’re proud to have ended 2019 and look back on it as one of the biggest years of growth in our history. Our revenue increased over 55%, and the expansion of our offices in Bogota, Barranquilla and Medellin brought our personnel growth to 99% over 2018.

2020 has exciting things in store, including a further expansion within the LatAm market and the growth of the educational workshops and knowledge-sharing talks we host that continue attracting the best and most keen talent in the design and engineering industry. We look forward to sharing more exciting news in the next edition!

This past year…

Device Lab

In July, we opened our world-class Device Lab, the first of its kind in Latin America to validate, verify and test the design, deployment and operations of digital services we develop for our clients in the Americas. With this latest milestone, we became the first regional digital services firm with a dedicated facility of this level, further proving the model of the exportation of services and innovation from Colombia, pioneered by us, as well as the further development of design and engineering professionals in Colombia. FOZ Talks

In order to continue contributing to the growth of the digital industry in Colombia, we developed an initiative called Friends of Zemoga (FOZ). Through international speakers from the tech sector, we seek to create intimate spaces to talk about the most relevant topics of the industry and share that knowledge with local talent. These sessions, which launched in September with Andy Hendrickson, CTO of Activision and now Zemoga Board Member, will be organized every three months and will be opened to the public with new international speakers sharing their experience of the digital industry, addressing topics like gaming, OTT and streaming services, UX and design, data analytics, among others that are of particular interest to the country.

Zemoga Academy

In June this year, we lauched Zemoga Academy – a new professional education venture providing a curriculum of advanced classes, symposia and workshops for both Zemoga employees and curious driven professionals interested in expanding their knowledge in the digital industry – we’ve since hosted workshops in design, front end development, mobile development, and QA.

We’ve invested over $18,000 and have hosted more than 150 students. In 2020, we will be bringing the Academy to other cities around Colombia, like Medellín and Barranquilla, where Zemoga also holds offices.

This year we had a 99% personnel growth over 2018, and our HR team continues to focus on maintaining the heart of who we are as a company. Our culture and the people who make it up are part of our DNA, and we proudly hold a 3.5% turnover rate thanks to the hard work and effort our HR team puts in. We congratulate and thank our Head of HR, Tatiana Gonzalez, for being recognized as one of the 100 most successful HR managers of Colombia in 2019, and our entire HR team for being recognized in exceeding expectations and averages within the sector.
