Top Five: Go-To Websites

five elements

by Daniel V. Licht (@thedvl)

I’m going to forgo the normal ones like PSFK, Fast Company and All Things D (’cause they are already on your daily reading lists) and give you 5 sites that can inspire in other ways. Some directly in the design space, some style inspiration and one that is just damn fun. And since Russ Ward didn’t use all 5 of his … I’m using his last one here!

The Z-team Takes on the World! First Stop: Sao Paolo

With a company blog called From Bogota With Love, it’s pretty obvious that Zemoga is deeply invested in Colombia. We have our largest office there and are really proud not only of the caliber of work we’re able to produce, but that we have the means to show off to the world just how full of talented people Colombia really is.

Alejandro Gomez, President of Zemoga, and Diego Ceballos recently had a chance to spread that message in a very special way.

Social Media Week Bogota Sneak Peek: Social Media and Education

by Briana Campbell (@MsMatchGirl)
Social media tools are everywhere. In every country, to some extent, around the globe. They have become a part of our every day. A part of our culture. In fact, in a February 2011 study, Colombia was ranked in the top 8 amongst countries on Facebook. And overall usage of social media in Latin America is on the rise. So why not use these tools, that we all use every day, to enhance and improve education?

Top Five: Go-To Websites

by Russ Ward (@russcward)

When From Bogota With Love first started, the Z-team made a point of sharing their inspiration with you, be it books, websites or music that was pushing the innovation and creative process forward. We’d like to pick that up again.

For the next several weeks, my fellow Zemogians and I will be sharing our Top Five. The series starts with our Top Five Go-To Websites.

1. www.Search-Cube.com This is a great attempt at a visual search tool that looks to avoid the typical semantic list. The three dimensional cube looks like a Rubik’s cube, cool but a little cumbersome perhaps.

2. www.oscope.com Another version of a visual search tool and more traditional in layout. I find that when I’m presented with these images alone I am free to interpret them. Man I am way off sometimes. See for yourself – what do you think?

3. www.ispionage.com This is a typical web tool that seems to tell us more that the owner of a site may want us to know. But – amazingly enough these guys estimate Pay Per Click expenditure over a year. I have used this for a while and clients are quite surprised this information is available.

4. http://www.onemotion.com/flash/spider/ This thing has circulated for some time but it is an amazing example of an interaction and engagement device enabled by technology. Bit creepy – where ever the mouse cursor it comes to it and you can pick it up by the leg/s or abdomen. Find and play with the options. Cool.

5. Four is all I have. Enjoy!

Why Amazon Should Sell the Kindle for $100 | An Open Letter to Jeff Bezos

To: Jeff Bezos, CEO, Amazon.com

From: Sven Larsen, CMO, Zemoga

Re: Give a Kid a Kindle

Jeff – first of all, congratulations on the success of the Kindle. It’s an amazing utilitarian device that puts you decisively in the hardware business. And it’s really helped kick the e-book business in to high gear. It looks like we’re well on the way to the media future Nicholas Negroponte speculated about in his 1995 classic BEING DIGITAL.
